Re: 10 questions with Jason Campbell

When I hear/read an interview with Campbell I just can't help but think that there's not much there. I always feel like he struggling to come up with the right answer to a question, even when he's trying to be funny or goofy.
I'd love to hear him in a normal conversation.

I agree he's not much of an interview. Always pretty bland.

Judging by this though, he's pretty cool when the camera's not rolling.

I'll just cut to the chase, are you saying he's dumb?

That is what I took from the comment.

I don't think Campbell is particularly clever in the humor department. I tend to think of him as a guy who always struggles to come up with a good comeback when people are busting his chops.

Re: 10 questions with Jason Campbell

I don't think he's trying to say he's dumb, I think he's just trying to say his interviews come across as really bland. I'd agree with that comment, JC has never said anything really that interesting in a interview besides the standard "we're just taking it one game at a time" comment.

I liked reading these questions though, I thought his comment about Rabach's butt was hilarious, although it must suck for him lol.

I know this thread is a month old, but I wanted to bring it back up because of the RI post from Campbell that I just read...

Quote:
Quarterback Jason Campbell said he was disappointed in his performance the first two days of training camp.

"I'm just not playing my type of ball right now," he said. "I know I can play at a high level if I play my type of ball, but I'm not doing that right now. I'm putting pressure on myself. I'm just trying to please everybody instead of just playing, just being myself and letting go.

"I know I'm a good quarterback. I know I don't have anything to prove. I've just got to go let go, go out there and have fun. Just play the game. You play your best when you're just playing loose and having fun. Just don't worry about a whole lot of things. Don't worry about what people think."
I feel like this is something that actually comes from the heart.
I think I misspoke when I said "I just can't help but think that there's not much there. I always feel like he struggling to come up with the right answer to a question," What I guess I meant was that you can never tell what he's actually feeling because he's too worried about saying what he thinks he should say.
However, in this article I like the fact that he's admitting that he's down on himself for not making all the throws in practice. I love the fact that he's taking it so serious. At the same time, you can tell he still has confidence in terms of getting the little things important.

I don't know, but I get the feeling he's really due for a breakout year and I can't help but get excited about it.

I don't know. His heads gotta be spinning right about now. But it's early and I'm sure all QB's are rusty the first few days. Nothing to worry about. At least not yet.

Question 3 (that's right, question 3!) was awesome. Did anyone read it? Can you tell me what you thought?

I'm not worried at all. In fact, I'm sort of happy to hear that he knows he's struggling a little and that he knows that he can do better. It's better than hearing of the canned responses that have been crammed down our throats in the past.
I just hope he's learning from his mistakes now, and I have faith that he is.

Re: 10 questions with Jason Campbell

Gibbs hated to lose more than he loved to win. That psychology led him to try and avoid losing more than winning. If you look at all the QB's under Gibbs, he really didn't trust any of them. Campbell did make mistakes which really caused the Redskins to lose. Just like any QB in the league. I think it drove Joe Gibbs to drink...Kool Aid.

he stopped by DC to pick up a playbook the week after he was drafted so he could start learning before he was actually allowed to practice with the team... he's had informal practices with WRs outside of OTAs for extra reps... it's kind of hard to think he's not trying or that he isn't serious about doing this right.

Re: 10 questions with Jason Campbell

JC is the kind of guy I want running my team, company or dating my daughter. Cooley is the guy I want to hang with at the bar.
