I guess they don't want to move Carter, but isn't it standard protocol to put your best pass rusher on the right side?

JT has more experience playing on the left so I guess they think it would be an easier transition for him vs. Carter switching.

i'm sure blache is also fully aware that carter has a limited number of moves in his arsenal and doesn't want to disrupt the stride he's seems to have hit
