Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)

if they don't think he can still play, they should cut him and let him try and play elsewhere.i can't see him playing for any other teams than the vikings or the bears if the packers release him.if GB thinks that rodgers is a better qb today than favre is,they need to change their nickname from cheeseheads to constipated cheese heads becausethey are so full of shit!!!!

Must be nice.
I'm betting if Favre agrees to this, he would take some "unofficial" post within the organization. You know, to justify the $8 mil over 10 years without taking a cap hit. I'm just speculating there, however.

It doesn't matter. You don't pay someone not to play. Awful......just awful. I always liked Mark Murphy but now he just looks like a big fat pussy.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)

As much as they don't want to do it, I think it's the only solution that makes sense for both sides. Favre gets the team he wants, and the Packers will at least get something in return instead of releasing him.

I vote for the Bears. That would be fun to watch.

I think the Vikings would be a better fit then the Bears. The Vikings would be a scary team to play with Favre as there QB.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)

he's got a lot better line in minnesota than he'd have in chicago.there is noway the packers can give him 20 million to stay retired.would'nt that be the sam thing as circumventing the salary cap???

Yeah, but the Bears are their biggest rival and would bring out more anger, hatred and insanity from the GB fans. More entertaining to watch.

Yeah, but the Packers play the Vikings in their opener on Monday Night Football. Talk about drama.

If you put Farve on Det. he might throw 40 to 50 TD's.

I think Farve should take up this option. He'd be the first player to ever be paid not to play. That would be a stat I would like to have.

Who could say that they paid not to play football?

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)

Honestly I would love to see him play for the Vikings They could possibly have the best offense with Favre/Peterson plus it would sure as hell make the season opener on Monday night football alot more exciting.... but I'd still rather see him play for the Packers
