The Times Herald - Clemons hasn't exactly stepped up

In fact, there are some rumors (don't know how serious) that the Eagles are tempted to just work out some sort of injury settlement with him and send him packing.

Which, of course, is the other side of the coin when you sign strong contributors for not a lot of cash, is that it's easy to get away from if they disappoint, and move on with the rest of the team.

I think the Clemons signing was a good one, both by Oakland last year off the scrap heap, and Philly this year, but the ability to get away from a player who was thought to make a contribution, but appears unable to do so, is a trait found in winning football teams.

Last year we had to make a similar decision (though not due to injury) with Lemar Marshall and Randall Godfrey, and simply, we likely would have missed the playoffs without Randall Godfrey. Our FO made a good call, one that probably put our defense over the top.
