ESPN ranks sports by difficulty
ESPN.com: Page 2 - Sport Skills Difficulty Rankings
This is tough, since they have such a broad range of sports. However, I can't argue with #60.

Re: ESPN ranks sports by difficulty
Interesting. I've often wondered about this.
Just glancing over the list, I think Volleyball is a bit high at #20, and figure skating (gay as it might be -- Chazz Michael Michaels aside) should at least make the top ten. How many times would it take smashing your face into a thick sheet of ice before you said "f*ck this" ?? No one would deny it takes an incredible amount of dedication. I've heard that the hardest thing to do in sports is to hit a fastball thrown by a Major League pitcher. Maybe it is. But as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't make it any more fun to watch. |

Interesting list, I don't agree with it but it's interesting. Did they purposely leave out the Decathlon/heptathlon? How do they give the Sprints only a 9.88 rating? Is there a sport that relies on speed more than sprints? Basketball players have a higher aptitude than NFL players? Who came up with that number... |

Soccer should not be ranked that high. It's a game for little kids.
Yep, it's the curveball that is hardest to hit. This is why we're not watching Michael Jordan on the White Sox now.

Re: ESPN ranks sports by difficulty
I know if I could hit a curve ball, I would have played more in high school, and perhaps at a lowly D3 program instead of "retiring" from baseball after getting my outright release my junior year and picking up slow pitch softball...
