Politics is largely about ignorant people holding a position they don't understand and attempting to argue for it and against anything else. The general public is so ignorant about everything from economics to history to science to philosophy that the argument turns into name calling and funny pictures.

I don't care if you're an evangelical or arguing for socialized health care, most people flat out don't understand the issues. The media (CNN, Fox, take your pick) has to have SOMEthing to talk about all day long, and this kind of immature bickering really appeals to the masses.

I can honestly say I am an amatuer when it comes to politics/goverment and the real issues. I think most people are.

My mom for example is a Dem. and every day that I go to visit her she is using whatever buzz word of the day is on CNN. IF I hear her say one more time the Rep. really pulled a "wildcard" on us, I am going to scream.

I'm highly suspicious when anyone has blind faith in the right OR the left. The hypocrisy and immaturity on both sides seems so blatant to me, I don't see how anyone can stick their neck out and not see the massive flaws in both.

Don't get me wrong I do see both sides and I know there isn't one side more guilty than the other.

I'm not a hugh Oreilly fan but atleast he does not hide behind his mike and act as if he is just reporting facts from an unbias stance like the other major networks. Do you know who Oreilly is voting for? If so how?

I was making a point that he does not hide his political views so we know where he is coming from. Could anyone tell me who the News Anchors for ABC, CBS, CNN or NBC are going to vote for? If so how do you know?

Most media types are registered as Independents and they usually keep their voting records out of public view for obvious reasons.

Except for the usual suspects on the late night cable circuit, I would imagine most of them have voted both ways over the course of their careers.

It's a widespread system or machine, not one lone guy. That's why I maintain that the best thing for this country to do as a whole is put a lot more focus on the legislative and judicial branches than the executive branch.

The executive branch so often gets reduced and simplified to one man. This country is about a LOT more than one guy sitting in the Oval Office.

I think we ought to form our own party. Include everyone. saden, dmek, hog, SS,matty. Get a nice balance of opinion. Why the hell can't this country have a party like that? Are most humans so unable to work with others and discuss issues and come to compromise?

Works for me. I've done my time in public service-student council representative, class treasurer, class president and my current position of moderator. I've got more experience than all the candidates combined!

Nonsense. Tom Brokaw never voted for a Republican in his life. Ditto Rather, Charlie Rose, Peter Jennings. Jennings was Canadian by birth, but I think he was naturalized and he weren't no Republican. The thing you have to understand is that they live in a world that is completely leftish. I saw Robbie Robertson of The Band on VH1 the other day talking about drugs in the 70s, and he was saying, "There was a point where I don't think I knew ANYONE who didn't use drugs." That's how politics is with these journalists. Tom Brokaw doesn't know anyone who is pro-life or attends an evangelical church and he can't comprehend the fact that there are people who's reality is the exact opposite. Slate, the online magazine had all it's contributors admit who they voted for in the last election, and I think of the 52 people involved, two voted for Bush and one of those was Christopher Hitchens.
