Witten is probably the best TE in the league right now and 'drafted lower' is kind of splitting hairs (Witten 3rd/69 overall in 2003, Cooley 3rd/81 overall in 2004). The thing that gets me about Witten is that he seems like a bit of a dullard (I'm a f-f-football player). Obviously impressionistic (I'm sure the Dallas fans will be quick to respond), but he certainly does not have the personality of Cooley (who does some dumb things but you can tell there is some intelligence there, and he is funny most of the time). Anyway, I wouldn't trade Cooley for Witten obviously and actually the numbers are pretty close (and, in fairness, Witten was putting up numbers before T.O. got there ... if anything that first year T.O. stole some TDs from him). I don't think we need to go off and so Cooley is soooo much better than Witten (or vice versa), neither is a valid argument.
