How the mighty have fallen!!
Peter King has us as the 4th in his Fine 15. And this little jem from don Banks with SI.
• There was not a thing fluky about the Redskins' road upset of the previously 3-0 Cowboys. Washington beat Dallas soundly, even though the final score was only 26-24. This should put a dose of smelling salts under the Cowboys' noses, because while they generated talk of being the NFL's best team in the season's first three weeks, the reality is they're not even the best team in their division. In fact, they're not even the second-best team in the NFC East. I'll take the Giants (3-0) and the Redskins (3-1) over them, and the Eagles are just a half-step behind. What a division. It's a shame the NFC East can't supply three wild-card playoff teams. Big surprise we are now being recognized.

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
Yeah, unfortunately I think everyone will continue placing the Giants above us, bc we lost to them in week one, but I think it is an unfair assessment. I think if we played the Giants now we'd beat them 9-10. I would never have thought it at the begining of this season, but we could end up winning this division. We win next week and we're 2-1 in the NFCE, and have them all at home down the stretch. The rest of our schedule is pretty cake. I could easily see us winning at least 4 out of our 5 next games. Going into the bye week at 7-2 would be sweet.
I like that what you have posted gives us all the credit. Most of what I've read and heard has placed more fault on the cowboys then praise for the skins (pretty typical). But this was not a gimme game, the cowboys played tough, we're simply the better team. |

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
nice job peter king and good find from the skins fan up north. bout time an expert finally realized that if the NFC east is a true beast then noone, not even the cowboys, can lay claim to the title until 16 games are done.
WillH - still alot of games to go, if recent history holds true we will play our best versus top notch opponenets then play down to teams we are supposed to beat. just like we beat the boys at their house, any team can bring it to us just as easily. i really hope we can play with this type of composed intensity for a long stretch. two sayings come to mind: "winning is contagious" and "any given sunday". right now i like the winning is contagious label versus the underdog anthem any given sunday. go skins!!!!! |

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
Don't worry when we lose a game she'll be the first one..he'll be the first one to throw a little dirt on us.
She's really a joke. I know alot of posters don't care for JLC but at least he is positive often. Sally Jenkins....never. But, hey, I'm sure she is not the only one out there kicking teams when they're down. That's why alot of players don't like the media. |

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
I just love proving these "experts" wrong and how they kept saying the NFC East was a three way race and the Redskins were an after thought.... Well not anymore!! If we can beat the Eagles this week, that would really screw with their minds.. lol.

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
I was watching B Mitch and he's beginning to focus more on the positives. Didn't hear one bad thing from him. Not a big fan of B Mitch, but apparently the on air blow up between him and Portis worked out.
LaVar was pumped up about the win. I was LMAO when he said he was biased and hated the Cowboys on the set. Go skins. C'mon on rookies, make an impact. |

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
I guess it's nice the media is giving us some respect. Though I think we've proven we don't need it. These are the same guys who thought the cowgirls were so great and did'nt give us a chance. Respect from a bunch of morons does'nt mean much to me. Props to the people who believed in us and did'nt waiver. HAIL REDSKINS!

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
Not sure why it surprises so many here think how these people did not give us a chance to win when we had 41 people here vote D the win. These are people who come to this site and talk Skins football all week then pick the other team to win.

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
Well I like to see us up near the top with all the NFC East lovefest, but we don't really need it. I think we are playing as a confident team right now and it all starts with Jason C. Do we or the team really need to be told how good we are or can be? Just keep winning and show all the naysayers how good the fourth best team in the division can be. shhhh... don't wake the beast.

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
Out of all the experts picks I saw before the game, there was only one guy that picked us. It was some unknown "expert" from CBSsports.com

Re: How the mighty have fallen!!
I hope the "experts" all say that it took too much out of us to beat America's Team in Texas, and playing on the road at Philly will be too much for us.
Getting recognition won't help us win games, but this team can handle it. They're not a bunch of crybaby premadonnas who will get too full of themselves like Dallas did. |
