I think Joe got this team headed in the right direction as far as personnel and getting Danny in line, but I also think his style and attitude of coaching was hard for the players to live up to for 17 weeks. Thus the drastic ebbs and flows we went through during his second tenure. We're loose and having fun now (not to the arrogant extent of Cowgirls, but still). I think that makes a difference. Portis said it himself, under Gibbs it was always so tight, so serious, always all about not letting down this Hall of Fame hero.

I couldn't agree more. This team is vastly underrated in large part because they were handcuffed for the last 4 years.
