Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
I think a HOF DE would make a team better. I would say if we keep winning let's make sure he's fairly healthy before we bring him back.
Even a less than 100% HOF DE would make this team better. In the Dal game, Wilson and Evans pretty much got manhandled. I think JT would have gotten a sack or two in the 2nd half. |

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
That's what I'm saying. We probably wouldn't be having this conversation if he was not injured and played all the games. Cause his impact would be felt. I believe that!
But since he has been "gimpy" pretty much since day one, and now side lined and not starting till who knows when. This discussion comes up. When he's healed up and playing. Watch out! In mind----he was a solid pick-up for us.

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
Right. But that player will be drafted. And he will in all likelyhood be contributing to the Dolphins long after J. Taylor is done contributing to us.

Although Andre Carter seems to be a much bigger factor when Taylor is rushing on the other side, I'll definitely give you guys that one.

Do we need him? No... but does he improve our overall D? Absolutely. If he can stay healthy and continue his production, he's def. worth the number 2 IMO.

Only if we want to improve our pass rush.

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
Assuming he makes the team than that could be the case. I have said in the past that the Skins give away draft picks like Santa Claus gives away Xmas presents (remember giving away those picks for TJ Duckett?). With that said this was the one time the Skins have given up a pick and I though they made the right move since JT is still fairly close to his prime.

J Taylor Will Be Fresh When He Come Back. The 2nd Half Will Be The Time
To Judge This Trade. It Will Help A. Carter From Teams Doubling Him. |

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
W/out looking at stats, I watched the NFL Replay and it just looked like the were running upfield or being pushed upfield and taking swipes at the QB. They may have gotten a little pressure occasionally but look how many times Romo passed in that game. It didn't look like Dal's o line was sweatin Carters opposite side.

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
As good as the D-Line has played without him, a healthy Taylor makes them that much better and more dangerous. It also takes some of the pressure off the secondary with a faster pass rush that makes QBs throw in haste.

Re: Is J. Taylor really needed?
I was very very against this trade. The 2nd rounder could turn out to be a stud. Or he could turn out to be a total bust. Time is going to tell if this was a good trade. If JT retires after this year it will be a bad trade. We need 2-3 years out of JT playing at a high level and it could turn out to be a good trade.
