The latest I heard was the next XBOX is due in late '05, with the new PS3 and Nintendo to follow in early '06.
Reportedly there's going to be two versions of the PS3, one version will be a home entertainment system like the special edition PSX that will have a DVD/CD burner, DVR and a bunch of other stuff. That will start at at least $500 and will be big with the techies. Then there will be a stripped down version for just games and DVD's that will start at around $300. Hopefully Nintendo will wise up and get online with their next system. That is really what held the cube back. It's a shame too because it's a very nice system. I think the graphics are better on the cube compared to the PS2, it's faster too, the load times on the PS2 can be ridiculous. All 3 systems should be at E3 2005. |
