no- the winner of the ap ballot will be the same winner of the bcs orange bowl game this year. last year, the winner of the ap ballot was not playing in the bcs sugar bowl. in fact, the winner of the ap ballot was also the winner of the coaches ballot before the coaches all were forced to vote to the sugar bowl winner. the split vote doesn't happen this year b/c auburn is 3 in the ap (not to mention the coaches).

Absolutley should be, but they wont. Its ashame too. Iventop is right though, I'm really rooting for Auburn, but I cant say that OU or USC dosent deserve to be there either , because they do. Its impossible to defend this system though. Its so flawed its unbeliveable. There are a ton of teams that got the screw job this year.

I agree Gmac. I think if the top 8 teams go to the playoffs we'll see something great. Don't use exams on these kids. 90% of the time it'll be football farm programs going into these games. Those kids don't take exams. If it's that big of a problem, delay it for one more week.

College teams have NO control over their conference schudules; those are set up by the conferences years in advance. USC plays a pre-set PAC-10 schedule; Auburn playes a pre-set SEC schedule.

EVERY college team has TOTAL control over their "out of conference schedule" USC played VA Tech and Notre Dame. If you want to argue that these are not the best teams in the country, fine. I'll even agree with you there.

However Auburn CHOSE to have its out of conference schedule consist of:

Louisiana-Monroe,

Louisiana Tech and

The Citadel.

Now if anyone wants to say that ANY ONE of Auburn's chosen opponents is tougher than Va Tech AND/OR Notre Dame, then I really don't think it's worth much time and effort trying to explain to you what a good football team is...

Having said that, the BCS is awful and needs to be scrapped in favor of a playoff system/tournament. But until that happens, live with the BCS because if it was just the writers' poll and the coaches' poll as it was in years past, Auburn would be on the outside looking in there too.
