Dhani Tackles the Globe
Bengal's LB'er meets the Travel Channel
Looks pretty interesting... he's going to be participating in everything from muay thai to rugby. It's cool to see a professional athlete stepping out of his comfort zone to try something new like this. I think it's replacing the time slot for "No Reservations" next week, since Tony's on hiatus for a year in Vietnam. Last edited by itvnetop; 03-11-2009 at 06:27 AM. |

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
Good show last night, I fell asleep and missed the end though. Not because it was boring I was just beat. Anyone watch it?

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
Last night he was doing some kind of wrestling and made it to the finals and lost to the first guy he lost to in the first round. I was flipping through stations last night and only caught parts of the show.

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
So he won a match huh. I watched the whole damn thing only to fall asleep at the end. Oh well I'm sure I'll catch the re-run.

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
I'm surprised that NFL contracts allow this sort of thing.. sports like the NBA especially forbid so many things including riding motorcycles, etc
I know football players are tougher, but you can get a lil messed up in martial arts |

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
I'm sure he and the Travel Ch. worked out a deal with the team so he could do this show.

Re: Dhani Tackles the Globe
This episode was way better than the Thailand premiere. I could tell the Swiss were looking at Dhani kind of funny at the start of each point, especially the training sessions and the actual tournament. It's pretty cool how he won the respect of the wrestlers and locals as each scene progressed- he showed how serious he was about learning and executing their sport. One theme I've learned in the first two episodes is what his trainers have said about him- that he's a super fast learner.
Kinda crazy seeing him pull off those moves on a snowboard too- dude's got some skills. Jones is really good for tv too- quote of the night: "Some things are made for Travel Channel HD!" (as the camera shows a closeup of a cow taking a dump). |
