Although it seems clear to me that the interest in Sanchez was never great, it is hard for me to disagree with you. I do not know what was said behind closed doors. And it makes some good football sense to at least inquire about both Cutler and Sanchez, since both are good QB's.

But it doesn't have to be an either/or. It could be that inquiries were made to see if we could get either cheaply. If not, then the noise could be used to motivate JC. Either way, from a certain point of view, the team wins, or thinks that it does anyway.
