If we manage a coup and can sign both, don't expect cap problems to get in the way. |

There are a thousand trade rumors circulating in Florida at the moment.
There is one particular trade rumor floating around the owners' meetings about a trade between the Skins and the Chargers involving the Skins getting the overall #1 pick from San Diego. Trotter and the #5 pick are involved. And there are other picks and players that are rumored to go both ways. This is all pure rumor and speculation. But if anyone hears that Robert Gallery is scheduled to visit Redskins Park, pay very close attention to what happens next...

Noooooooooo. Enough already. Blockbuster or not, can we stop trading away picks?? Drafting good, young and cheap talent will pay dividends both today (hungry, talented players generally make good special teamers) and lay a foundation for when replacing players.
AND what do we want with the number 1 pick this year? Either Taylor or Winslow would fill a need and the consensus is that both will be available at our slot. Quite frankly, if we can drop a spot or two, and pick up another pick this year, I think that would be the best thing we could do. As for Gardner and Trotter, if we can trade em straight up for picks (at least a 3rd for Gardner and anything we can get for Trotter) - God bless'em. It just seems to me that the Skins tend to be a bit cavalier with their picks which (again, just to me) seems to be a bad long term plan. Okay, that's my two cents. |

If we trade for the #1 overall - I hope to hell that we turn around and sell it off to the highest bidder - someone who's all lovey dovey for Manning or Fitzgerald. We can get what we need at #5.

Actually, that makes more sense. I wouldn't be suprised if "blockbuster" meant a three team deal with players and picks flying all over the place. BTW - What date is the draft? Thanks |

Wow, Sportscurm. Keep us posted on the juiciest rumors! That will really keep the site hopping until draft day.
Looks to me like we don't need a QB or a WR, so maybe Gallery, but we've got a lot of beef there already. Still, it's a Gibbs/Bugel team. Interesting...

Okay, I got one.
The fifth pick, Gardner, Trotter, and our Fifth rounder to San Diego for the top pick, a player to be named (do they have any decent D-Lineman?) and a late (6 or 7th) round pick. The first pick then goes to the Giants (who use it on Eli), in return for the fourth pick, the Giants second rounder this year and next. THEN if Gallery is available at four, the fourth pick to Cleveland (who really want Gallery) for the seventh pick and a 3rd. And with the seventh pick take KWII (as Detroit will take Taylor) If Gallery not available - Keep fourth and take Taylor Boy that was fun. How much do I get if I am right?? |

trading samuels to get Gallery woudlnt make anysense. We wouldnt gain anything and we'd have to trade up to Gallery and then pay him as much as Samuels. If Samuels is smart he'll get a new agent.
