To be honest, I don't know. I think at this point, we can't release him because we are too close to mini-camps & training camp, but early in the offseason, this is a move I would go with. Because of all the things I mentioned.

I like Smoot for his energy, but you are right about giving more cushion then Rogers. So like I said, about who to replace Rogers, I simply don't know. I would not want to throw caution to the wind, as this FO has done so often in the past & put some un-tested CB back there...too many things can go wrong there. At this point, I guess we wait it out & HOPE that things go better for him this year.

That being said, this is the "Release Him!' thread, not the "replace him thread" so you caught me off guard with that. LOL

No worries. Just asking for the sake of conversation. Nothing in this thread says you have to name a replacement for the guy you want to release. Common sense just says it's naturally the next question.
