A few Cowboys that are good for something

Group that includes three Cowboys players signs heavy metal record deal

Marc Colombo, Leonard Davis, and Cory Procter have all signed a heavy metal deal with a record label. I loathe the Cowboys with every part of my being, but I respect decent rock.... and decent it is. I am not crazy about metal, but as far as metal goes, this goes for pretty good.

Jesus they're actually decent. Kill me now. The guitar player is pretty damn good and Proctor is very solid on drums. Columbo has the right sound for the music and Davis is fine on bass. Sorta cool to see a giant black guy playing bass in a metal band. Not something you see every day. And sweet lord they are all huge...another thing you don't every day in the music orld. I am guessing that gutiar player has some size to him and he looks tiny next to Columbo and Davis.

They are decent but that song sucks, it's too wishy washy for Metal. In other words is it a slow song or a fast song? A transition or 2 throughout the song is ok, but the entire thing was stop and go.

As far as the vocals are concerned, it seems like the lead singer was trying too hard. His singing voice just did not seem natural for him. He needs to find his range and stick with it. The instrumentals were pretty good though.

How weird would it be to lift to your own metal?

Heavy Metal is almost as bad as the Cowboys.

Re: A few Cowboys that are good for something

they suck. It's pop metal, which usually sucks. It's hooks & rifts to please the masses & nothing with real substance. So what that they can strum a few chords & hit a drum in beat. A 5 year old can do that. Double Fail. Cowboys+Cowboys "music"=Fail x2.

That's when they can use other people's written music. A lot of song writers use songs written by other people. They haven't fine tuned their ear enough to make their own music yet, no biggie, a lot of groups starting out have that same problem. The key is to see if the talent is there, and it seems that it is.
