No love for Josh Willingham and his 2 Grand Slams?
Washington Nationals vs. Milwaukee Brewers - Recap - July 27, 2009 - ESPN
So I know the Nats are ungodly awful, but every once in awhile they still provide entertainment (intentionally I mean). After all the crap that they took for the whole Natinals thing, which really wasn't even their fault, I think they're due for some good karma. Last night Josh Willingham blasted Grand Slams in back-to-back innings and the Nats won their 3rd game in a row. Two of those wins have been blow outs and the other was in extras. As for Willingham's feat, it's apparently more rare to see the same guy hit two grand slams in one game that it is to see a perfect game pitched. Now, maybe they use this hype and flip Willingham for a decent middle infielder & a pitching prospect.

Re: No love for Josh Willingham and his 2 Grand Slams?
I was lucky enough to see both of Grand Slams live on TV. The first time in my life I witness something like that. It was awesome. As a true diehard Nats fan (there isnt many of us) it was great to see that. It was also good to see Kearns get the walk off hit on Sunday.
I think Willingham stays since the team has control of him for the next 2 years. I would love to see Nick Johnson get moved for a pitching prospect or a middle infield prospect. It would also be nice to see the Nats pull a 10 game winning streak! But that might be asking for too much. |

I'll be there too. I've liked the Nats since they came to DC (gotta support the de facto hometown) but I'm not going to turn my back on the team I grew up rooting for.

I'm rooting for at least a 7 game winning streak. And I hope R. Zimmerman starts another long hitting streak. The Nats might make a trade before the deadline which is the 31st (I think!).
