It's not like an offense and blocking schemes take a little longer to "gel" than a defense or anything. I agree with Matty, the season is OVER, JUST OVER!!!!!

I'll get a first hand look on Wed. at how terrible we're going to be.

Re: Training Camp Updates:

Direct TV is out of control now. I remember when i 1st got DTV is was about $129 for NFL Ticket. I live in California so i have the sport package with Comcast that shows Washington Post Show and Comcast sports news that shows training camp daily. On Sundays it has Redskins Pre game show and Post game show. I have NFL Ticket with the HD package games look great on my LG 55 inch. HTTR....

Another point made was the defense knows the plays and everyone is simply practicing. The more I think about it, the less worried I am. If they gel enough to stop our dline half the time, alot of the other teams are going to be piece o' cakes!

Glad to see Rinehart getting some reps since Randy Thomas is being held out of practice. With the team giving RT some time off, I hoe Rinehart can get some extra reps during the preseason.

I'm really rooting for Rinehart. Just like Devin Thomas, Rinehart can seriously shake things up for the better if he steps it up this year.

I agree Ruh, the more reps Rinehart can get the better. The more the younger guys step up, the better off we are. It would be nice to not have such a big dropoff if one of our starters has to sit.

Collins can anticipate better, but can't get the ball there if it's more than twenty yards away. If we coulk throw those two in a blender and make one QB smoothie we might have something. Throw in a little vodka never hurts.

But as I said before, perhaps JC was simple off on Saturday.
your comments re. JC is what i really want to see JC improve upon in his 2nd yr in zorns offense. if he can get more fluid and comfortable with what he sees and is confident he knows where to put the ball the passing game should start to click instead of having to rely on the Oline to hold off defenders as JC hesitates/second guesses what he sees and doesnt throw the ball until the receiver is open open.

if only this was JC third or fourth year in the same offense . . .

go skins!!

Well the only way the D should know the play is if the O is telling them. Each formation has a bundle of plays and they should not know the play just by the O's formation. If thats the case then we have bigger issues.

I of course don't have the link, but I think it was Samuels who said it, and yes it is the coaches telling everyone the plays. I believe, right now they are all made aware of it so that everyone can be focusing on techniques. I don't think that is a big issue. For example, initially when training on a military operation, you know the enemies goal and tactics so that you can train for that particular attack. once you have trained several scenarios the enemy is given more leeway and you are then learning how to adapt etc. Remember this is not day 31 of camp, if there is a day 31. Everyone is getting on the same page, etc.

Re: Training Camp Updates:

Plus the offense will repeat plays to work on getting them down. They may run the same play several times in one practice and, needless to say, at best it will be a surprise for the defense only on the first rep.

R. Thomas Rests as O Line Gets Banged Up

The Redskins rested several players on Tuesday morning with more bumps and bruises flaring up now as the two-a-day training camp grind starts to take its toll.

Offensive guard Randy Thomas was rested with a sore knee. Thomas, who had arthroscopic surgery on the same knee this offseason, "felt like when he tried to really anchor and put a load on it, it was a little bit abrasive so we held him out today," Redskins Coach Jim Zorn said.

There is no timetable on Thomas's return, but Zorn said he did not expect it to be long.
Stephon Heyer left practice after getting his left knee rolled during goal line drills and Zorn called it a "bruise" and said he did not know the extent of the injury or whether Heyer would have an MRI.

Mike Williams was also rested with a groin injury. "He's got a little muscle pull," Zorn said.
Second-year receivers Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly were mostly rested during practice, as well.

With Roydell Williams out after undergoing surgery on his pinkie finger, several wide receivers have increased their workload and "they've got sore legs right now, too, so we held a couple out," Zorn said.

According to Zorn, Williams likely will not be able to run for three weeks and Zorn speculated that the injury would be a four- to six-week setback.

Center Casey Rabach (calf) also did not finish the practice but Zorn did not seem overly concerned with the "muscle aches" across the line.
