If it wasn't a violation then how did he get locked up?

I thought it was Dick Armey? You know what puzzled me about the Valery Plane, (what-ever her name is), thing was that no one seemed to ask?

Why is it that we have blonde women in the CIA working undercover in corporations, and not Arabic men infiltrating terrorist groups? Maybe we do? I'm not privy to such things. It seems like a waste of resources if you ask me.

Obstruction and perjury.

Legal issues like this one are somewhat tricky and the way the media reports them is a cross between ineptly and dishonestly. There are probably 100 million Americans who know who Scooter Libby is and 90 million of them think he "leaked" Valerie Plame's "cover" to the press. When in fact no one "leaked" it because it was pretty common knowledge in DC anyways and it wasn't he who did the "leaking" anyways at all.

It may depend on how deep undercover they've gone before.

There are many ways to gather intelligence one of which is usage of innocent looking blond desk agent. I mean, why put all your eggs in one basket? A healthy mix of desk agents and field agents is more effective than having a force consisting of only field agents.

I'd say with 9/11 they were lacking field agents.

They are, finding good field agents that speak Arabic is a terribly difficult undertaking. Still, you're not going to win this battle by simply throwing more field agents into the field.

Your right!!! We need a multi-barrelled repeating rifle that loads either field or desk agents. Also, it should be equipped with either automatic or single shot capability.

(Sorry to digress - I agree with your statement, but it's Friday afternoon and I got a bad case of the stupids).

They put out good ships after Pearl Harbor got bombed too. Hindsight is 20 /20. You actually think they want to win?

It was common knowledge that she worked for the CIA. Yeah, she might have bled to death from a paper cut.

Re: Cheney vs. Bush: Former VP Writing Tell-All Memoir

She married Wilson in 1998 and gave birth to their twins in 2000,[21] and resumed travel overseas in 2001, 2002, and 2003 as part of her cover job. She met with workers in the nuclear industry, cultivated sources, and managed spies.[22] Part of her work involved ensuring that Iran did not acquire nuclear weapons.[23]

Part of her work during this time was concerned with determining the use of aluminum tubes purchased by Iraq.[24] CIA analysts prior to the Iraq invasion were quoted by the White House as believing that Iraq was trying to acquire nuclear weapons and that these aluminum tubes could be used in a centrifuge for nuclear enrichment.[25][26] However, David Corn and Michael Isikoff argued that the undercover work being done by Mrs. Wilson and her CIA colleagues in the Directorate of Central Intelligence Nonproliferation Center strongly contradicted such a claim.[24]
taken from wikpedia. sure sounds like a pencil puher to me...

Pencil pusher or not, did he break the law? If yes then he goes to jail. If he broke the law to save Cheney or Armey then Scooter got played big time. Must have been guilty alot of people are trying to minimize the offense. The reasoning process should include Scooter guilty or not. Too bad, cry me a river.
