A couple weeks ago I get a weird piece of mail that is hand written. I open it up and it is a picture of him with his address full name and his police record. It says to look out for him that he is selling drugs in the neighborhood and at the pool and if you see him call the local drug enforcement number. The really kicker is they say he is a registered sex offender in the state of MD. I looked his name up and he is not an offender but how many people will. The letter went to every house in my neighborhood. It has been quit the talk amongst neighbors.

The other thing this person did is late at night they put out garage/yard sale signs but they say Drug Sale with his address and picture. It also says lots of cash on premises.

Well I have not seen my buddy in some time now. We will see how will it works, I am guessing once it dies down he will be back at it.
Where there is a will there is a way.

Sounds like libel to me. Whoever is doing that stuff should be careful and know the consequences. Nothing will probably come of it, but it could. Anyways, it's nice to see people trying to do something. Problem is, I don't think they have any real proof of the accusations.

Eh. Maybe it's exaggerated, but I tip my hat to whomever took the initiative. It's not like the drug dealer is going to pursue a lawsuit. What's he gonna say? Yeah, I sell drugs, but I'm no sex offender? Right. According to mredskins, he's made himself scarce. Job well done by the neighborhood.

The leter sent out was fairly long. It included severly pics of him in postions were it looked like he was selling. I myself caught him a month ago selling to a truck parked in front of my house. When I say caught I saw them out my window and him telling the guy to go meet him somewhere else. He is/was very afriad of these people knowing where he lived I could tell he went to great lengthes to ensure they never came down to his house. Would have loved to see his folks faces when they opened the letter.

If you hadn't got him to recognize you then I would have recommended calling the police and while remaining anonymous get them to come to your neighborhood when he's doing his business. To my understanding so long as you're not doing anything wrong and the cops can catch the guy on their own there will be no need for you to get involved past making the phone call. If they show up and he's gone they still won't come question you.

The only thing I worry about is if someone like that finds out you narced him out the worst they'll do is come after your family the least they'll probably do is vandalize your property. Unfortunately this isn't really the type of thing where you should be manning up. On the contrary a good amount of people in this line of work don't play fair and it's best to avoid any involvement with someone like this.

At the same time, if the entire neighborhood knows what the dude is up to and is clearly against him, his only real option is to take his "business" elsewhere. He'll be the obvious suspect of any vandalizing or retaliation, and mredskins would have all of his neighbors (except one) on his side. It sounds like this guy is getting squeezed out, and it's a good story IMO.

If I had young kids and I saw a drug dealer essentially operating out of my front yard on a daily basis, I'd probably end up in jail for assault on the SOB.

Re: Potential Drug Dealer- Advice Needed

Let me say many of my neighbors have called the police and/or gone to the Police dept to report this guy. Nothing has been done but that doesn't mean an investigation is not in progress. We as a neigborhood have been playing by the rules in trying to catch him, being going on now for a couple of years (I just started notcing him). Now someone has decide not to play by the rules on the "good" side and shockingly it has worked I have not seen him since.

This weekend the "person" put up an elaborate amount of signs inside and outside of the neighborhood. The signs were directing you to his house as though he was having a yard sale on Sunday but they said Drug Sale. The signs only last a day or two and then someone/him rips them down.

Re: Potential Drug Dealer- Advice Needed

So final update,hopefully.

They arrested my "buddy" this week. The police had been following him for weeks and they were able to take a few other of his contacts down with him. They got a search warrant as well for his parents house. OMG they tore those folks house apart shit everywhere.

So now he is in jail waiting his court date and his folks have kicked him out of the house.

I had been talking with one detective and he said the mail stunt set them back a week or two because basically he went into hiding. So I guess at the time the letter looked good but in reality it worked against the cops.

Well in the end it was a happy ending.

^ Glad to hear your family will be safe, at least from this individual.
