Vilma defensive rookie of the year

Vilma won with 21 votes, Daunta Robinson came in second with 12. Sean Taylor finished 4th with 3 votes. No votes for Erik Coleman....5th round pick from washington st. 100 tackles 2 sacks and 4ints.

I don't think Sean should have won, but I would have thought maybe higher than 4th... Oh well. Still a complete beast.

Yeah, no surprise Vilma won. If the Skins were a dominant offensive team too, Taylor would have garnered more votes.

i think if taylor hadnt missed that game he was suspended, and had started from the beginning of the year, then he would have been much higher, and maybe even have won it. his stats were hurt by that.

You say that assuming its an easy anwser. In college Vilma was known as the most dominant and pefect tackler that anyone had ever seen. In the national championship game they were talking about vilma hits so perfectly that you dont feel it becaue you go down clean. Literally on the same drive he made a hit, they said how it was perfect ,and the guy got carted off the field. Taylor has always been known as more of a ball hawk then a hitter, Roy williams is a pure hitter but not as good of a coverage guy.

Honestly, Taylor didn't deserve it. Vilma was a decent choice, but Robinson may have been my #1.

agreed... robinson plays one of the toughest positions in football and to represent as a rookie speaks volumes.

Vilma was an instant impact player, I got to see him quite a bit this year and I was always impressed. He definitely doesn't play like a rookie.
