(or better yet, he looked up a lot of old warpath threads about "vet minimum" offers & thought that sounded good)
If they wanted them they could get them both. Sign some deal with stipulations that they would get a nice bonus and be rewarded with a nice contract next year in a uncapped season................

I doubt that.

Completely different subject but sure, but not to the extent that she said. He probably tried to keep her from leaving wasted, she was probably leaving wasted because they were arguing.. all speculation but it's what I figure happened.

stop dreaming. we would be VERY lucky to get a 2nd for rogers. A 3rd is more realistic. In the end, though, we may not get any trade partners and receive nothing but a 3rd-4th round compensatory pick in 2011.

He's a shut down corner, there would be plenty of teams interested in giving up a second for Rogers. Injuries play a major factor here and someone this weekend could get hurt and need to fill in the hole immediately.

He's constantly with his guy but lately he's been not making the plays on the ball like he used to. The plenty of teams would definitely be in the back half of the round and they're mostly set.

Someone else said this...and I've been saying it since the draft.
OLB and OT...duh!

You can go after QBs, RB, WR all day but unless you can block and your d can stop people when it counts, you are dead.

If any trade makes sense, it would be a skilled position for a grunt starter.
Ideally...that would be something like Betts for a young OT or OLB on a team with serious depth.

Derrick Johnson of the Chiefs is on the trading block, he's a Great 4-3 OLB! Put him at SLB and move Orakpo to DE

Re: Trade Deadline Approaching; Any Moves?

I realize that the O-line needs help first, but what about throwing a 2nd-rounder to the Rams for Steven Jackson?

He and Portis would be a great tandem and Jackson will be here after Portis is finished.

Why would a team give up a 1st or 2nd for Rogers when he becomes a FA after this year? Wouldn't they just wait til the end of the season and sign him?

And don't forget if next year is uncapped rookie contracts extend one more year so Rogers won't be a FA.

I don't see anyone giving up a 1st. A 2nd might be a stretch but if a contending team lost a cb this weekend, e.g. the vikes wingfield, or even the Saints (the GW connection), I could see that happening. Rogers is a very solid cb.

As for waiting til season's end, a no. of trades happen for that very reason, the team that wants a player gets him w/out as much competition from the market. Usually the player would sign a new deal w/new team.
