Gibbs was deferential to Williams and Saunders. He entrusted the D to Williams and the O to Saunders. Both turned out to be poor talent evaluators and it cost the franchise dearly(Lloyd, ARE, Arch).

Gregg may be poor evaluator, but he still managed to create good defense afterwards.. Of course, there were some times when we got shredded, mostly due to good players; Wesbrooks, Barber, TO and such.. But we always were in top 10..

Edit: You can see how good Saints are now, due to Gregg.. Imagine if we had good offense during his era at here, I wonder what would happen..

My point was that Gibbs made this call to sign Arch because of GW, then told Snyderatto what to do, they simply executed what Gibbs said. Gibbs was certainly no "butt boy" to Snyder. If anything, Snyder worshiped the ground Gibbs walked on.

True, Gregg didn't do good in Jax.. But other than the stint at Jax and the Redskins 2006, he did pretty good with his defense.. I just discovered something through wikipedia.com, Sean Payton voluntary took 250,000 dollars pay cut, in order to get Gregg to come to Saints.. That says something..

As for Gibbs and Snyderatto, I have no comment.. I have no idea what's going on in that organization, just like most of us.. I have been huge fan of Redskins since 2004.. I wasn't crazy about football until that year when I started playing football for high school, and my family always have rooted for Skins.. So I started to root for Skins, but then next thing I knew, I fell in love with Redskins, you could say that I'm becoming obsessed with Redskins stuff.. I never have really felt that low about this; I wasn't really aware of Redskins' seasons before 2004.. Obviously, we know who's responsible for stuff and such but I just don't see any point of complaining and pointing fingers at people..

Snyder tries his best to be the next best thing to Jimmy Jones and Marty Schot, but without the knowledge of the game and faith in personnel.

This is another GRAND example of how thinking and managing short-term will get NO long term results. (ie Hiring Gibbs to fill seats).

Am I the only one that has had this idea.......? Since Snyder likes to make headlines and throw his money around by hiring "big names", why doesn't he spend some money to bring Bill Cowher out of retirement?

That old school, hard-nosed, run-centric, disciplined style of football is exactly what is needed for the NFC East.

I bet Cowher would only come if he had control and had a REAL support stem around him (from Owner to GM).

Bro, Cowher ain't the answer. Gruden ain't the answer. This is all about Vinny and Snyder. I promise you, unless Snyder get's rid of Vinny it won't matter who we bring here.

Where did that come from? are you talking about Marg schott? or Marty Schottenheimer? Wasn't Jimmy Jones the guys who led all those people off to Guana and had them drink the Cool Aid.....Oh, I see what you did there....LOL. You were referencing DS as Jim Jones and calling us fans the congigration drinking the "Cool Aid". Wow ...I didn't think of it that way.

but what about the Marty comment? Marty has done good things with teams he's led as a HC. He just has not gotten the SB, but neither did Marino so he must suck also.

Correct. He made Gibbs the team President - Gibbs could sign anyone he wanted.
