Gregg Williams' Defense
I haven't really been paying much attention to the Greg Williams’ Saints defense this year but they seem to be doing well. They lead the league with 18 takeaways and its only week 7. When he was here it would have taken us nearly two seasons to reach that amount of turnovers. Were the players here just not grasping his system or has he learned from the past and adjusted his schemes? Since he departed we have continued to be among the league worse in takeaways. What do you think because I'm really starting to think that we simply don't have that much talent...on either side of the ball?

Re: Greg Williams' Defense
I'm guessing it has more to do with the offense than the defense when it comes to take aways. The Redskins offense has been awful for years and they relied on the defense to win games, so Williams couldn't afford to take chances. With New Orleans, he knows they'll score and they can play very aggressive football. Add that to the fact that most teams that play them are behind and throwing the rock a lot more than vs. the skins, so more chances to intercept.
That's my take.

Re: Greg Williams' Defense
i think that is part of the deal, daesel. but we cannot deny that we have to lead the league or be top 5 in dropped interceptions. we create a lot of opportunities but our players just dont make the plays, ie dropped interceptions, forced fumbles but no recoveries, etc.

Re: Gregg Williams' Defense
It also doesn't hurt that Darren Sharper himself has 6 INTs, that guy is still damn good for being 33 years old.

Unknowns? Sharper leads the league in int's, both for the year and active players career. Jabari Greer, former #1 corner from the bills. Tracy Porter #1 draft pick '08 from Indiana. Gay- former patriot and LSU. I wouldn't say they are unknowns or much worse than Redskins personel. Infact they are playing as well as a secondary, reguarding take aways, as ours did with S.T.
