I Hope All In The Tidewater Area Are Ok

Well for those that might not know we had three days of pretty bad weather. With the winds blowing for three days straight it brought alot of flooding and damage to our area. I was lucky but alot of people have had alot of water damage and flooding to their homes and busnesses. I know we have several members in the area and just wanted to see how they are doing. Here is a link to our local news and pics of the damage.

Swimming around the Beach area. I just got power back. This area looks like a war zone. I hope everyone else is doing ok. This has been a wild ride to say the least.

Good to hear your OK and to think this storm had wind gust just over 60 mph. The biggest problem was that it lasted 3 days never allowing the water to go down. Low Tide around our house was higher then any normal High Tide and to think I came real close to leaving my boat in the water Monday night after we went fishing.

If you would've left your boat in the water it would've been somewhere down the coast by now.

Pics of Ocean City MD yesterday: East Coast USA - Surf Photos - Swellinfo.com
Start with the one that says "Prolly Biggest Wave I Ever Seen On East Coast" and it spills onto the 2nd page. Massive surf.

Wow, but I didn't see any surfers out catching any waves.

The dock where I keep my boat is a floating dock and it brook loose with 4 other boats tied to it. We had thrown out several anchors and they helped keep them from washing up on shore. Today we got the pier back away from shore and when the tide finally goes down some tomorrow we will re set the poles. The dock is in a creek which gives it protection from the big waves. Some friend of mine have a cottage which is built in the middle of the river which is now gone.

my fiance's father left one of his boats in the water at their river house just south of tappahanok, he is headed down tomorrow, there wasn't much point in going yesterday or today cause it's not like he could do anything right now, the one good thing is their house is a good 25 feet above the river, and they are kinda far back in a cove

my bother in law's parents house in urbana got hit pretty bad too, their dock got pretty jacked up, they had sand bags out back last night and the water was about 3 feet from their house, haven't talked to him yet tonight

I'm all good, just been swamped with work the last couple of weeks. Hope the other guys are OK. Actually just got back from the game, nice to get a win when my son and I made the trip up.

Re: I Hope All In The Tidewater Area Are Ok

Is this you buster? Back in my day I would ride waves that big but at 45 and not Surfing very often I would have had to watch from the beach. I went and checked out the link and saw the pics of the barge in Sandbridge. We drove down over the weekend and that thing is hugh and the pics don't do it any justice. We also went for a boat ride Sunday and saw a ton of damage to people docks and boats. Wanted to go fishing last night but decided there was just too much stuff floating around which would be tough to see at night.
