Well, I don't know how it scales, but I don't think it would be a stretch to suggest that he's at least twice as popular in Washington as Sinorice is in New York.

He's probably remains more popular among "the U" fans than Redskins fans though. That should be factored in as well.

He'll probably still be popular when he departs after the 2010 season. He's well buffered by a coaching staff that is really not well liked by the fanbase, and a quarterback who most still sympathize with, but don't really consider external factors for what has helped make and break him.

In short: when the team wins, Santana gets his due, but when the team loses, he gets largely forgotten by the fanbase.
