Without a doubt, offenses in both college and the pros are going through an evolution of sorts. Glad to see Shanahan is on to this, apparently looking to incorporate new ideas into his offense. You also have to wonder if his study of the Florida Gators means anything with regard to the possibility of drafting Tim Tebow. Shanny's been known to take chances and go against conventional wisdom -- sometimes to his detriment.

In any case, it'll be nice to see creative, innovative offense in Washington again.

I think his visit had more to do with learning about the spread offense/hanging out in Gainesville with Urban Meyer than scouting Tebow. I'm a huge Gator fan, but my whole draft strategy is based on the presumption that 2010 will NOT be a "rebuilding year," but rather legitimate competition for the NFC East. We can always rebuild in 2011. I mean, even if we go 8-8 this season, it's not like Dan Snyder would fire a veteran head coach after ONE season, right?

Ugh. I feel sick.

If we take ONE thing from the spread, we could switch our base setup to the shotgun. That might actually solve a few problems. Everything else in the spread pretty much relies on pure speed. We don't need a creative, innovative offense in Washington, we need an offense that executes to the maximum of their ability.

Steve Spurrier brought a creative, innovative offense to D.C., so excuse me if I say (even as a UF grad), that I never want to see a Gator offense in this city again.
