That said, "formulating early trade ideas" is a bit misleading. He said it was standard practice for NFL execs attending Super Bowl week to interact with each other, discuss possible trades, do some "scouting/recruiting" discuss league issues (i.e. labor agreement). They're formulating trade ideas just like every other team not named the Saints or Colts is doing this week

As to your second point- Exactly. Really everything right now from any head coach or GM is lip service. "We're exploring all avenues to improve the team, we look forward to this player and that player contributing, blah blah blah."
