Random Thought: I must say that I agree with Holmgren on this one (about to p QB's not throwing in the combine). I understand if a QB is hurt, but I hate this whole "only throwing at the school's pro day" deal.

Let's see, I'm Bradford or Clausen, most if not all projections have both gone before pick # 10 = 8 figure payday. Why risk a sub-par performance, dropping, and losing millions, so Mike Holgren (or any other GM/coach) can be happy. Is Holmgren going to pass on either one at # 6...I don't think so.

Why would they have a subpar performance if they are supposed to be that good? Just because you don't have a choreographed pro day at their school?

I know that this will never change, so I'm not going to bother making an argument for it, but I just feel they should be required to throw at the combine just like all the other players.

Plus the combine is the most over rated event in general to begin with. IMO biggest value are the player interviews, getting to know the person, character, and personality you cant get on tape. Hopefully that stuff isnt too scripted.

I agree with you and Holmgren. Leaving injured players aside, as a pro-to-be you should desire an opportunity to strut your stuff. And having players work in an unfamiliar environment with unfamiliar teammates is what coaches naturally want, given that it simulates some NFL scenarios and is more genuine than a choreographed pro day.

I understand The Great Sammy Baugh's logic regarding risking huge sums of money, but as it is the QB scene at the combine is lame.

Arguably the best QB's in the draft.

Now this means that Robinson, Kafka, and Pikes draft stocks will increase just by them participating in passing drills, as long as they don't really screw their throws.

I'm surprised that Tebow isn't throwing, he seems like he's on a mission to prove to scouts that he can play QB at the pro level.

He's still working on his mechanics/new throwing motion/timing, etc
