I don't know how much they're involved at Man U but they traded the Lebron James of soccer in Christiano Ronaldo for $90 million then to calm down the fans they had to make a public statement promising to spend that money on players. If Snyder made that deal how many people would be worried about him spending that money on players? The Glazers are slowly reverting towards the Bidwell and Mike Browns of the league. Though I will admit that part of it might be because they're maxed out financially. But anyway back to Bruce, basically the freedom to spend more money was part of the reason this job was so attractive to him. Quote:

What sort of spending spree did he go on in Tampa exactly?

^ In 2004 Tampa let go of vets Sapp, Lynch, and Keshawn Johnson. They brought in 19 free agents including Brian Griese, Charlie Garner, Joey Galloway, Matt O’dwyer, Matt Stichcomb, Jason Widdle, Derrick Deese, Todd Steussie, Darrell Russell, Ian Gold, Mario Edwards, and Josh Bidwell to punt. Don't believe the Hype Matty different faces, same game!

...my take is Allen thinks he can spot talent and acquire it economically. Now his boss is willing to spend whatever it takes. The important thing is Allen and Shanahan keep Snyder out of the process (entirely if possible) and make wise football decisions to build a deep, talented and cohesive roster.

In 2004 those names meant something. they replaced their whole offensive line. If you are advocating getting players on the cheap, you typically get what you pay for... cheap play. I don't think that is what shanny an allen look to do, friday will show us all the truth.

Redskins Insider - Redskins explore their nose-tackle options in draft
as discussed in the RI report above, anyone think we will go after one of the NT studs in the draft? Dan Williams out of Tennessee, Alabama's Terrence Cody and North Carolina's Cam Thomas are the three mentioned. i assume that we would have to use our second round pick to get one of them.

He came in and cut ties with a lot of high priced vets, and brought in a bunch of no-names basically. I don't really see how this is any sort of spending spree. Any idea what they paid for these guys? I don't see anyone that would have commanded a huge deal, certainly not like what we've seen the Skins dish out. |

Redskins gave Kedric Golston the 2nd round tender, according to Jason Reid

Re: Prospects for Shanahans offense/Hasletts 3-4 D
no one wanted him last year. i'm sure no one else will this year, especially with all the DT talent in the draft.
