The problem is that the whole NFC is getting better... you have Minnesota (if they still have Favre), Green Bay, Maybe Chicago, New Orleans, Carolina and Atlanta plus the NFC EAST which is also very high... The West is a Joke but getting to the playoffs will be hard this season specially as a wildcard team... I can easily see a 10-6 team not making the playoffs this year

Mainly off the team Parcells built around Romo, Gurode, Witten, Ware, Ratliff, Austin, and Newman. It never ceases to amaze me how good Parcells is at building teams so much so that the Cowboys have been competitive since 2007 with Jurruh running the team. The Cowboys will be going back to the Quincy Carter/Dave Campo era if Jones doesn't get a good personnel man between now and when that core leaves Dallas.

I mean put it this way the Redskins only lasted half a season after Gibbs left and leaving Vinny to call the shots with essentially a puppet coach. The Cowboys on the other hand have lasted 3 years and counting using a similar method.

Also keep in mind that now with the Saints winning the Super Bowl Parcells has 3 coaches from his coaching tree that have won at least one Super Bowl.
