Drafting Roger Saffold in the second round or drafting Russell Okung in the first in my eyes would have the same impact come next year. Let's get Clausen or Berry and get a star player for years to come that will get credit for playing well and make them play better. Dont' get me wrong I have nothing but respect for the offensive line, but it's a sad reality that they get no credit from the media and fans until the offseason. |

I understand those two quarterbacks were downright horrible, but it still has to have a bit of an impact considering these were two highly regarded draft choices coming from college. |

Re: Jared Gaither for our second round pick?
This is another smart option. With one problem, we have to trust Jason Campbell who again doesn't get respect until the offseason.
I'm not trying to cause any arguement, but just saying when I think back to games from this past season and further back, I remember a quarterback who didn't fit anything the offense tried to do and made horrible decisions and when there was a good open receiver he would throw it short, because of bad instincts. Let's hope Mike can work his magic on him, because I wouldn't be surprised also if this option plays out. |

This alone tells me why not wait till next year & get him for no draft picks. We only have 5 picks & we need to make them all count. |

I'm glad a lot of people around here are not GMs! (including me)

Re: Jared Gaither for our second round pick?
Has anyone else that Shanahan has been much more willing to take on power blocking types since he came to Washington? When he first came here I conformed to the 300 or under stereotype but it seems like this time around he's more comfortable going into the season with a bigger offensive line. Who knows, maybe all those rumblings about Denver O-Lineman being light to handle the mile high elevation weren't so far fetched.

Nope, def haven't seen our final line so I'm not saying he's willing on anything hell maybe he'll run it for a bit.. people do usually go to their roots though it's going to depend on what happens personnel wise until we get a picture we can say that he'll develop it around our players and that's fine.. at the same time he may be developing the scheme around our players and seeing how they perform.. then he knows after actual GAME play what he needs to do I think that he'll find out a lot in the pre-season activities, but he could mold it later on as well he's not getting fired after one year no matter what |

Re: Jared Gaither for our second round pick?
I think Jared is well worth are 2nd round pick , he's a starting tackle . Yes he might not fit are scheme that well ,but neither does Dockery (326) , Mike Williams ( 337) , or Hicks ( 335 ) who we signed this year. The guy can play football and would be are best olinemen ,so i dont care if he wasnt an honor roll student. And if they can get portis and hanyesworth to practice they can get him to aswell. Hopefully we can also get Okug ,but if hes not there at 4 ,i dont want to reach for another OT. At that point trade down , and draft best avalable. But are line would be much improved if we had this as are starting lineup.
LT- Okug LG- Dockery C- Rabach RG- Heyer RT- Gaither with Mike williams , Artis Hicks , Edwin Williams , and Chad Reinhart as are backups.
