This the viral media spiral i hate. One source, anonymous and very obtuse, has a point that makes a juicy story, and it gets picked up and repeated until it seems to be coming from everywhere.
I'll see you one source and raise you a stlouis reporter tweet

Nothing going on between Rams and Redskins for the No. 1 overall pick, multiple sources at Rams Park tell me.

Schefter just confirmed that he doesnt see this happening as the Rams are asking too much for the rights to Bradford. What I dont get is what some Rams beat writer allegedly said on ESPN - He used the analogy of a guy going into buy a suit (Bradford) and can't make his mind up so while he's waiting they get him to buy a tie(Carriker). How can the team's beat writer be dumb enough to not know we've been pursuing Carriker for a while. I don't think any teams beat writers have the slightest clue of whats going on.
I also still don't see what the love affair with Bradford is - he has alot of potential, but no one thinks he could be ready to start right away and i dont think you can spend the #1 overall pick on a guy you dont expect to start (and play at a decent-to-above average level) immediately.
