Re: Zorn finds Job.
Look for the Ravens to only get better in the years ahead. Zorn will likely take Flacco to the next level, and that offense was already making strides.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
Doesn't have to move AT ALL.
Congrats and good luck Coach Zorn, this job will be a much better fit for you.

Baltimore is feeling Zorn's glow:
Ravens' biggest offseason addition might be Zorn - baltimoresun.com Quote:

"I'm not God's gift to coaching," Zorn said.
You're not?! JZ is a nice guy and a good QB coach. He was just in a little over his head here as far as being a HC.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
Very funny that the last two people that ran our offenses, Zorn and Saunders are now working in Baltimore. I bet those two have already shared some funny stories.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
Well first of all he hasn't had a OC job since he left here. Saunders is a proven guy. KC had a top 5 offense when he coached there. He just didn't have the personel to run his offense while in Washington.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
He was the OC in St. Louis in 2008. That Rams team put up 232 points, or about 2/3 of those underachievers on the 2007 Redskins (334), and about 4/5 as many as that "west coast" Redskins offense of 08 (265).

Re: Zorn finds Job.
I always wanted to see Al Saunders for at least one more year with complete autonomy with the offense.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
My point, as FRPLG alluded to, is that what worked for Saunders in 2002-2005 when he had top personnel simply hasn't translated outside of the Rams/Chiefs Vermiel system, with other sets of personnel.
Basically, it appears that Saunders was kind of a non-factor in the output of those offenses. That's not to argue that he isn't doing his job as a coach, as he's had success when all of his other parts were built for him and he merely needed to call the plays, but as he added (personnel) responsibility, future success alluded him. Which kind of debunks the myth that he's some great offensive mind held back by quarterbacking in Washington and St. Louis. Which, to be fair, wasn't skinsfan69's argument. It was irish's argument that I responded to a few months ago.

Re: Zorn finds Job.
Zorn's good at being a mentor and is knowledgeable at his specialty. He wasn't too good of a manager or communicator, and was oblivious to some of the finer aspects of being a good OC.
