Re: OffSeason Team Needs???
I agree with your paragraphs more than the list. I feel every position besides CB (if we don't sign smoot) is a luxury, and I'd rather have stability!
Offense I think with a big WR in the draft and a blocking TE we could really be set on offense. The honeymoon period is almost over for Gibbs. If he doesn't start to turn his offense around wait and see how the media rips him. They were very tame this year, he got a free-pass year last year which most coaches in DC don't get. I think that this year he won't get that luxury. |

Re: OffSeason Team Needs???
I think the biggest need right now is a #1 reciever, after that I would like to see us grab a center/guard to groom and serve as depth especially at the center position, I don't think TE is as big of a need as other's, Cooley is going to be the guy catching the ball, as far as blocking we have Sellar's, Cooley is no slouch when it comes to blocking either, if we find a TE who can block and catch great, I just don't see at as a glaring need, I feel we would have more need to draft a MLB than TE Marshall is not a guy I am sold on in the middle, I at least want to have a legitimate backup plan if he doesn't pan out, I then would look for depth on defense and special team's.

I KNOW! But the H- back can and is used at times as a TE, being Cooley has established himself as a threat in the passing game, he has made the need for a pass catching TE a lesser priority, it's irrelevant where either a TE or H-back lines up in Gibb's system with all the line shift's and motion it's very simple to put either an H-back or TE in the right position to block, TE's usually don't catch the ball in Gibb's system just ask Donny Warren, as far as drafting a big bodied TE, or a lineman with some athletic ability to just block from the TE position, that's not a high priority, Reason? College's are loaded with undersized linemen who could assume blocking from the TE position but can't catch, it shouldn't be a problem to find one late in the draft which mean's it's not one of our top priorities. |

Re: OffSeason Team Needs???
you guys know we got a 315lb 6'6" TE on the roster right?? and that he's bigger than most of our oline?
still a blocking TE would be a good thing, sellars was alright at it, cooley was average at best (he showed improvement, but he hasn't had a lot of experience as a blocker) |

I am hoping to see a big improvement in that area for Cooley this season, in college he was known not only for great hand's but for his punishing block's he one the hard hat award or something like that in college for his ability to lay the wood on defender's, I know it's only college but this kid is a big strong TE or H-back or whatever we want to call him with the potential to be an outstanding blocker in this league, but just like learning new pass routes it takes some time to learn new blocking pattern's it took Bett's more than a full season to get it into his head, it's more than just looking for someone to hit, I think he will do well in that area this year. |
