Re: Arizona's New Immigration Law
Amercia has never been a free market economy. Implying if we tried a free market economy it would be something new. In my words a risky experiment.

The only credit that I'm aware of recently is the one where if you hire a previously unemployed worker there's a $ 1000 / yr. credit or so. Most small business are running barebones employee wise in this economy. Unless things make a drastic turn high and to the right, there isn't going to be much hiring in the small business sector. You also forgot to mention the 3 years increase in the minimum wage from 2007-2009 ($ 5.85 - $ 7.25 / hr.) over 19% in three years. I haven't seen a 19% pay increase during that time, and the revenue from my business hasn't seen a 19% increase either. So who is required to pay the increased wages.....oh right, the small business owner must take from his/her bottom line to cover it. If Gov't would get out of the way with over-regulation and social engineering, the 300M would be able to obtain cost-effective insurance in the private sector, with the poor qualifying for gov't programs/assistance. And probably the most important point.....the gov't isn't "giving" us anything with tax credits and cuts. Money (profit) is generated by the small business and is property of the small business owner/s, not the gov't. The tax credits/cuts are just the gov't dictating how much needs to be paid. P.S. Fairtax eliminates taxes on small business altogether and lets businesses focus and make decisions based on profit, not tax ramifications.

That being said, much of what our gov't calls "regulation" is really social engineering and should be removed. When it is, the free-market flourishes and powers the economy. To be clear, I'm a free-market supporter, with limited gov't regulation to protect the consumer/employees/environment.

Grammy immigrated to the US in either the early 50’s or late 40’s when she was like 25 or so, leaving a communist country. My dad was born here, but I think at least one of my aunts was born overseas. Like most immigrants she said they only came with what they could physically carry and had a low amount of money, like 20 bucks or something. She said it took her 5 years to be a citizen (but she had kids born here after she came). Has anyone else talked to legal immigrants that worked hard to become citizens (or are working hard towards becoming a citizen) and get their view point? Also, something that im sure will piss TTE off, she told me she just received a call from her insurance company and they reduced her car insurance by 25%! I have never seen her drive in my life and had no idea she had a license. Shes pretty old and im not sure how I feel about her driving.

Re: Arizona's New Immigration Law
Bolivia and Mexico are different in my opinion. I will use this analogy: America is a breakfast we have all contributed. Europeans contribution can be summed up as adding egss, Mexicans contribution can be summed up as bacon. We took half of their country and incorporated it into America. That border meant nothing to our ancestors and founding fathers, it has was always been the way it is (traditional values come in to play) Mexico has a special relationship to this country, far different than Bolivia's. Their influence on this country is far greater. It is not the same, and it is fair. Bolivia, what have they contributed to America? Mexico, what have they contributed to America? Our two biggest staes for starters.
