Re: Haynesworth PASSES Conditioning Test

Sure the media ran wild with this story a bit, but that's what they do. AH held the key to this story the entire time though.

This would have been a non-story if he had just

1) shown up for more than 50% of the offseason work, or

1a) if he would have just passed the conditioning test on the first try

Re: Haynesworth PASSES Conditioning Test

Just heard Haynesworth thanking the fans for supporting him and, essentially, putting up with him. Pretty interesting.

I think if he gets on the field and doesn't come across as bitter and petulant, that will go a long ways to rehab his image.

AH will be the fan favorite to hate. Regardless of how many 4th and 1's he stuffs, or how many sacks his teammates put up. Each time he goes down on his knees some hater will post in the game day thread how we shoulda cut him.

If any of them were standing in front of Haynesworth they would bow down and assume the same position as that the dirty stripper who is trying to steal from him. All of them are pathetic. Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford haven't busted a grape in the NFL yet both of them have bigger contracts then Haynesworth but all we see is losers talking about a 300 yard shuttle run. This witch hunt is driven by jealousy, plan and simple.

I hope Godzilla takes a cheap shot on every QB he faces this year.
This is one of the more ignorant posts I've read in a while. Sure, there are plenty of folks in the media who suck, but to pigeon-hole all of them with these generalizations is pretty weak. Just because Haynesworth could kick their asses, they shouldn't write anything about them? Ummm, by that rationale, there would basically no sports media in America. Most pro-athletes could beat up most media folk.

It's not a secret that Haynesworth isn't exactly a good guy. When he signed the biggest contract ever for a defensive player, he put himself under a big microscope. God forbid he toe the line. While I do think the media made it a WAAAY bigger deal than it really was, to say it was out of jealously is plain silly.

And then you finish it up by basically hoping that Haynesworth draws 15 yard penalties taking cheap shots in every game we play this season?

There are plenty of "media twerps" who would not bow down to Haynesworth. If you think Mark Schlereth, who like it or not is media now, would bow down to Haynesworth, you're kidding yourself.

Witchhunt driven by jealousy? Hardly. Yes Haynesworth isn't the first person to work out on his own in the off-season. But you know what, they all showed up on day one ready to go. Yes Haynesworth lost 40+ pounds in the off-season but he first gained about 20. Haynesworth has known about the conditioning test all off-season and he still couldn't pass it. That's on him.

Special camera angles for Golic? Please. I was standing right there. Admittedly, I will say I thought he might have been a second late on the second run but it was close. And the run was legit.
Exactly. These folks who are so happy about his 35-40 lb weight loss need to take into account that he slapped on a fresh 20 as soon as the season was over. So what, we're gonna give him extra credit because he gave off the impression that he cared about his weight in the few months leading up to training camp? Oh yes Mr. Haynesworth, thank you so much for NOT showing up to camp pushing 370. Please.

I'm not gonna tip my hat to the man for that. I guess the bar was set pretty low after he showed up for camp last year doing his best impression of the blob.

Haynesworth apologists annoy me.

Re: Haynesworth PASSES Conditioning Test

All I can say is that AH brought all this on himself by not showing up for conditioning and mini camps. If he did none of this would have ever been an issue. End of story. I just hope this make him determined to prove everyone wrong and he has a great year.

Time to move on from the AH saga. Let the man play, and lets see how he does for us in the new system. I can see big things for AH this year.

I think he's a big baby. But i know what we got when we signed him. I didn't turn on him through this process, and i wont turn on him when he takes every 1/4 play off. Because those other 75%, he is going to be better than any two guys trying to stop him from penetrating the backfield(that's what she said).

So do I. Haynesworth dominating would be great for our beloved Redskins. I just can't stand the guy. But winning changes a lot.

I could still see him traded by the deadline if a contender has a big need for a 4-3 DT.

Now it seems a lot less likely. Unless someone gave us a 1st rounder, i mean. Plus, DT/NT is a position that can be plugged for a year.

I think he's with us for atleast 2010-11.
