I think Stan Kasten already came out and said they wouldn't let him go all Ultimate Warrior with the eye black.

But I guess if after a few years in the bigs he turns out to be the next Babe Ruth they'll let him do whatever he wants.

Anybody see Mike Sellers at the coin toss against the Ravens Saturday night? He went all BH with his eye black, it looked stupid.

Really am starting to wish we would have traded Adam Dunn by the trade deadline, can't stand this guy anymore. I could careless if he hits 30-40 solo homers a year.

dunn does more than hit 30-40 homers a year. he protects the middle part of your lineup.

Yeah and Morse would do a much better job at first than he does. Morse see's the ball as well as hits the ball much better than he does and he's smarter.

For instance, if Desmond throws the ball to Dunn, but it's a little off the plate, rather than getting of the bag and catching the ball, he stays on which allows the ball to be thrown away and runners to advance / score. He can't pick a ball to save his life either.

I know he can't get all the balls thrown bad, but the ones he can he makes no effort to get and I'm sick of it, Morse would be a much better choice right now.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season

Considering this is Dunn's first full year at first base, you have to cut him some slack. First base isn't just catching everything thrown at you, he's still making adjustments.

But Dunn isn't there for his fielding, he's there to hit the ball. He might be in a slump, he's still in the NL Top 10 as far as Slugging Pct, On Base + Slugging, Home Runs, Extra Base Hits and Total Bases. All things you want your cleanup hitter doing.

Morse has started all of 10 games at First Base in his career. To say he'll do better at First than Dunn would is incredibly far fetched. As well as the claim that he sees and hits the ball much better than Dunn does. Morse is a career utility player, nothing more.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season

The only thing Dunn is here for his his hitting, I know that, he couldn't play left field to save his life and he sure can't play first base either.

I'd take my chances with Morse right now, he's probably the better fit for first base right now and I'd like to see him there for a game. I mean hell, we have been 'working on a deal' with Dunn for the past couple of weeks and nothing has happened. I doubt he's here next season. This season is lost, might as well start testing some things out.

Rigs must go too, even though they already resigned him for next season, ugh.

Re: Nat's and O's - 2010 MLB Season

So you're going to sit a guy who has averaged almost 40 HRs/year over the last 7 seasons (including 2010), who's leading the league in extra base hits this year, and who isn't at the bottom of the league in errors and fielding pct for first basemen for a career utilityman to try some things out? Whatever floats your boat man.

If anything you get Tyler Moore or Chris Marrero to come up with the September call-ups and see how they do. I see Dunn signing a deal during the offseason and will most likely get dealt to an AL team before next year's trade deadline. But we'll see. I just can't justify benching one of the best power hitters in baseball.

I'd definitely sit Dunn for a look at someone to replace him, especially in a season like this that doesn't mean anything.

I'd also get rid of Riggleman as well and a couple other players.

Don't get me wrong, he doesn't have the best players, but just like Acta, he really isn't doing anything either to attempt things. Switching Zimmerman and Dunn in the batting order doesn't cut it.

Exactly. Was it even halfway into the season when they said he'd be back next year? I mean how do you guarantee that with so many games left?
