Re: Moss to sign "multiyear contract befitting a No. 1 wideout"
Have the Skins, since Snyder, ever gone into a season with just a little bit of cap space? This is just unbelievable to me. Moss is NOT a First Tier receiver.....he's just not. As a free agent he'd have gotten as much interest as Burress is getting right now.

They must really see something in Moss that no one else does.

Or maybe they're trying a preemptive strike, hoping to sign him now before he has his "break out" year next year and asks for even MORE money.

Also, by the way the off-season has gone so far. I'm impressed with how Gibbs has handled it.

Either way, I agree with waiting to see how it all plays out though

Re: Moss to sign "multiyear contract befitting a No. 1 wideout"
Impressed Malcolm? On our unwillingness to up our ante just a bit to sign a team veteran and great player? Or maybe it the 9M cap hit we took to get a mediocre WR. I'm just not impressed with a lot of the talent we brought in. I would have been happy just retaining most of our team. The comments about "well we can't pay Smoot more than Springs." Marcus Washington had a much better year than LaVar, should we swap their contracts? Doubt that's going to happen.
Also, AndyskinUK. Do you want to risk him fitting into the system well and having a great year and have gone through all this mess just to get nothing in return and not be able to keep him when he leaves? I'm all for giving him an extention, but lets give him one he deserves. |

Re: Moss to sign "multiyear contract befitting a No. 1 wideout"
Someone was worried about Drew Rosenhaus having pictures of Danny and Monkey Boy as his leverage for such contractual considerations. You'd best hope that is not the case because Rosenhaus is the agent for Sean Taylor - who is not happy with his contract that still has four years to run - and for Clinton Portis who had some issues with the playcalling of the coach last year. (Didn't some WR have a similar complaint and he was traded away after being threatened with suspensions and no playing time?)
