Leonard Skinner has died.

Dead de facto rock and roll icon.

Leonard Skinner, the gym teacher who inspired the name of the legendary southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died.

Teacher who inspired Lynyrd Skynyrd name dies - CNN.com

Skynyrd was awesome in its heyday. I dont know how I would have gotten thru high school without Free Bird.

Re: Leonard Skinner had died.

I guess that means listeners of classic rock stations will be treated to 20-30 rotations per day of "Sweet Home Alabama" instead of the usual 10.
