Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback

Division matchups are different but I'm ashamed. I hate the idea of being afraid of a Mike Vick led passing attack. Back in 2006 that would have qualified as a bad joke. Now it's a terrifying reality.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Jags are probably too deficient in talent to handle the load.

Hopefully we can fall back on, 'it's a division game so we'll play them tough no matter what' rational but after today it doesn't seem to encouraging.

Looking back, Vick would put together 3 or so games with passer ratings in the 100's. Then he would put together 3 or so games with passer ratings in the 40's.

Two or three games are not enough to evaluate him. I'm not a Vick believer yet.

Maybe. But I'm not going to ignore history in the meantime.

We always play good in Philly. They really aren't that good. Funny thing is, if we win we are #1 in the East....lol

Crap, here's what happened the last time Vick faced a Shanahan coached team.
NFL Game Center: Atlanta Falcons at Denver Broncos - 2004 Week 8

I know the irony of the narrators statements won't be lost on you guys. Remember this was 2004 when Vick was at his absolute peak. Opening line: "After being beaten like a mutt last week the Atlanta Falcons came into Denver...." And yes to make matters worse a pitbull is shown in this part of the video.

I dont even want to watch this game. Our defense is garbage, we have a piss-poor offense, horrible running game, we are a last in the league team right now. The eagles will beat us as bad as the patriots did in 2007

He was the top rusher.
Alge Crumpler was the top receiver.
Peerless Price was the second-top receiver.
Fat T.J Duckett was the runner up.

Compare that with
DeSean Jackson
Jeremy Maclin
LeSean McCoy

It's going to be a long day. St. Louis spared us some embarassment because their deep threat (Avery) was injured. Philly won't.

Although you might be right i don't recall Vick stringing 3 plus 100 QB rating games together.(And Vick was one my favorite players)
But, what if he can sustain this level of performance?

Re: Andy Reid names Michael Vick as team's starting quarterback

It just looks like Vick is becoming the passer that he has the ability to be. He's got the tools, he just needed to right coaching and the right attitude, and he needed to learn how to be a pro. That means doing all the little things, film study, working on his mechanics and so forth. I think he's doing all those things now it shows. I think being around McNabb for a year also helped.

Now that he has his dog fighting out of the way maybe he has more time to work on those.
