49ers release veteran safety

Just got this off the wire at good ole NFL.com:NFL.com news: Niners grant veteran safety Lewis his release

Think we should look into acquiring Mr Lewis' services? A vet safety might be able to give Laron some help, or at least give us depth.

Intriguing, but the coaching staff be just be content with what they have.

Doubt it. I'm not sure but I think Michael Lewis plays strong, and we already have 3 strong safeties with Landry, Doughty, and Horton.

He has to be better than Horton. If he was any good, I doubt the niners would let him go right now.

I think he got a little ticked off that they wanted to ease in Taylor Mays a bit into the lineup.

W/Kareem Moore healthy now, the safety position is about as deep as any on the team.
