Re: Your life in a movie...

I know more than once (ok, more than a million times) I've said "we" when I am referring to the Redskins. What's so wrong with that? My wife doesn't get it and I don't expect her to ever get it. My wife is still mad at me because I yelled at her after she jinxed the last Dallas game....four minutes to go, she say's, "looks like the redskins are going to win this one." She still doesn't see that she did anything wrong.

Re: Your life in a movie...

Hahahaha... I remember I was brand new here when I heard you say something about that. I also say "we" and my girlfriend KINDA gets it only because she just recently became a Redskins freak. Before she joined "the good side" she was like, "Why do you always say 'we' when you aren't a part of the team?"

Granted, I am not part of the physical team, but being a fan you are an indirect, if not direct part of the organization. Without fans, there would be no team.

It's a relationship of reciprocity.

Re: Your life in a movie...

Yeah, just last night when my wife was cutting my hair we saw the ad for the movie, and I said to her that this movie is like us if it was the Redskins rather than the Red Sox.

I too, say "we" when talking to my friends at work. The one guy was like, "WE!?! What? Do you own the team, are you on the team?" I said no I do not own the team, nor am I on the team, but do think for a single second that should the oppertunity arise for me to be on the team or own the team I wouldnt. I said hell I would even be a ball boy just to be on the sidelines with the Redskins!!!

Although I am pretty proud of my wife cause I have gotten her to talk the same way about the Redskins. We were watching the NFL Network and they were talking about Plexico B. and she said, "I thought "WE"were getting him." She doesnt know how happy she made me when she said that!!

Re: Your life in a movie...

For three weeks I called my then-two year old son "Jinxie" because he was in the room for the Carolina loss in 2003. My wife promptly confiscated my "Father of the Year" coffee mug.

Brud...if anything, that makes you a better father...teaching your son about the ups and downs in life...making sure he knows that he was the reason they lost that game

That made me laugh out loud.

I too use the term "we" when referring to the Redskins and every time I do it I feel like a total dumbass but I can't stop doing. They are part my being so I have just decided to go with it.

During the Green Bay game last year I yelled at my wife for coming back in the room in the fourth quarter when it was close. Every time she left they did something well and when she came back we sucked. At one point she came back in and I told her to leave and not come back. She had to watch the rest of the game on our small bedroom TV. She was not happy. Of course we lost so they made me look liek a total tard. She'll never understand we would have won if she hadn't come in the room at all. It would have been a blowout probably!

Re: Your life in a movie...

my fiancee doesn't understand how i can get so upset at the TV...especially during Skins games and Terrapin basketball games. i yell and scream like a buffoon, and she doesn't get it. i've never thrown her out of a room...but my time will come. i'm still young...

she also wishes i showed that kind of emotion in other walks of life...i'm not a very outward emotional guy...except when it comes to sports and competition.

i try not to use the term "we" when speaking of the Redskins, or any other team I'm a fan of...and usually i do a good job. but we all have our moments when we get caught up in the moment.

Ahh... I see his name is Ben. People named Ben typically rock people's faces completely off. Malcolm is only my alter-ego.
