Shutter Island is one of my favorite books and I think that's a big reason why I liked the movie as much as I did. I usually hate it when people say this but I think it really is one of those movies where you should also read the book. Personally, I'm always amazed that people who never read the book Fight Club like the movie as much as they do because I think it's really the same way.

Yes, it's "twisty for twisty sake" but the book was written that way on purpose. It was made to be kind of a throw back, pulp fictiony (not the movie but the genre) story.

Because I'm a giant uneducated tool, I didn't even know it was a book. LOL

I could DEFINITELY see the book being much better...
