PSPs

I had asked this a while back in another thread but never really got any responses, but I was wondering if anyone else was getting a PSP? I'm curious cuz I'll be looking to try out the multiplayer stuff, especially when Madden comes out. I'm starting off with Ridge Racer and Darkstalkers but I'll also be getting NBA Street and Twisted Metal in the near future.

Re: PSPs

I've got a gameboy advance and I probably won't go for the PSP until the price comes down, but it sure looks pretty killer. I could care less about playing movies, the games look really impressive.

Re: PSPs

I remember the days of having the good ol' B/W Gameboy. Playing it at night with the whack-ass little lights. Oh how far games have come...

Re: PSPs

the only serious knocks i've heard on the PSPs are short battery life (2hours i think, short relative to gameboys), and expense ($250 for the thing and 50$ a game, again relative to gameboys)...

the battery life is about 4-6 hours (3-5 for dvds or progressive scan discs which is still kinda bad in comparison to the 8-10 hours the game boy adv. can get), but I know personally anytime I'm playing my gameboy sp, 90-95% of the time I'm near an ac outlet or a car recharger so I don't think it's as a big a deal as some r making it out to be. it's true some of the games r $50, but a lot r also $40 and it seems after a little bit that most of them will be closer to $40 a game rather than $50. I'm getting it mostly for the games, but being able to watch dvds on the go 4 me is awesome and I'm gonna love using mine as an mp3 player.

Re: PSPs

I was watching some reviews of the PSP on Judgement Day and damn the graphics are very impressive. Not impressive enough for me to shell out $250, but like I said above once the price comes down in a year or so I'll probably jump on it.

For now the gameboy advance sp suits my portable gaming needs just fine.
