Re: Redskins Titans Game Reviews and Critical Positivity
Quote:
That game showed me that Kyle and the offensive staff have their thinking caps on and they're designing and calling a version of the offense that suits McNabb. As a result McNabb is more in rhythm and he's going to the right place at the right time more often. But McNabb still seems to have an aversion for throwing the flat route in any route combo that doesn't involve Mike Sellers. Imo a lot of the incompletions could be at least 3 yard gain if McNabb didn't ignore this route. I still hold out hope that McNabb will become a much more effecient QB as the season progresses and Kyle figures out how to gear the offense around him. I still think that using Fred Davis a second TE receiving option is better then any of our 3rd or 4th WRs. I think that Cooley and Davis should be the focal point of our non-Santana passing offense and we should use the duo from the start of the game to create mismatches both in the passing game and in the running game. If they're intent on using Galloway as a part of this passing game i don't understand why they would ever have him run in-breaking routes. Its never been his strength even in his prime old man Joey is more contact averse then Santana. Joey G should only run verticals 9 routes, post, corners and the occasional. I wish that Armstrong and Tana should alternate on the deep routes Tana has made his living getting vertical down field and although he's getting targeted a ton in the passing game he hasn't been going deep as often. I'm curious to see Armstrong get some more targets in the possension/chain mover role because i have a feeling that Armstrong has the best combo of size, desire and hands. I would love to see Armstrong get all of JG targets. In short more double TE sets, more Fred Davis and more Armstrong. |
