I guess a better phrasing would have been 'risking a cancer in the locker room'. Sure, I think if Portis is on the team and continuously going to the press, like he has been known to do in the past, saying that he deserves a raise, it could become a bad situation.

better to have as many guys on the same page as possible unless he keeps quiet.
