Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I like our young WR corps- Austin, Armstrong and Banks. I think Armstrong and Austin will get better next year. At the moment, I compare Armstrong to a poor man's Gary Clark with lots of future potential. Austin could be our Ricky Sanders, we just need a Monk.

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
One thing thats been overlooked this year is the coaching of McCardell. Armstrong and Austin are developing nicely. Not to mention two 800 yard guys and a 1,000 receiver. Davis also had a nice year as a number two Tight End with 300 yards.

I don't see how anyone can get on the Austin bandwagon yet, as he didn't play at all hardly. When the coaches still keep some older has been Wrs around, there is a reason for that. After they let Galloway go, Austin should have been featured some, but he wasn't. Don't be too shocked if we do go after a WR(s) in the draft that he will be cut by the time the 2011 roster hits 53. |

The WRs are not bad at all. Austin deserves more playing time. What's going to happen to Kelly if he comes back? Why not make Davis a WR and let Paulsen compliment Cooly. |

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I think Kelly will surprise unless he gets hurt again, I've also thought about why not convert Davis into a big physical WR.

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
You're kidding right? Even when he was healthy what did he do? Not much cause he really couldn't get open. He had one real good game against San Diego's back ups.

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
How much playing time under Shanahan's regime have you seen him play? None, right? Neither have I. Let's give him one more chance and see what he can do, I believe he will surprise, if he doesn't get hurt. If he gets hurt again then you move on.

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I agree, lets not even count on Malcolm Kelly. If he surprises, shows up and stays healthy and goes on to have a great career...great! But I am not going to hold my breath or even count on him in the 2011 plans. We would be foolish to count on him, but we would be just as foolish to dump him at this point. Give him one more chance. If he pulls another hamstring next training camp he should be sent packing. Enough is enough with his injuries.

I suggested earlier that the Skins should play Kevin Barnes as a FS and they did that! Now we need to use Rabach as a backup behind Montgomery who will backup Cooke at Center. As for Kelly, he must be ready to jump out of his skin with anticipation of working in this offense. |

Re: Giants v. Redskins Gameday Thread
I wish they would have played Cook to see what he's got, his brother is a G for the Vikes and supposedly both were pretty good in college (negatives on him are slow feet). It wouldn't hurt to draft a C and sign Mankins in FA.
