I guess if you complain you should be able to present an alternative right? I'd personally probably just use a straight link to the forum home. I mean there may be some members who hop to one of the subforums first but idk.. maybe that'd be worth polling or looking at analytics for where people tend to end up within the forums coming straight from the home page, though I'm not sure if analytics shows a non-traditional link jump, that I'd have to look into.

I was going to say just put it in a vbadv module but that'd take up real estate from the headlines, polls, etc so that's probably not a good idea.
